8 of the Best Wedding Venues on the Amalfi Coast

With most wedding venues perched in enviable locations on the coastline, there is an abundance of different options to suit your taste, wedding size and budget.

1. Fattoria Di Maiano

A charming and rustic farm located in the Fiesole Hills, Fattoria Di Maiano features impressive architecture and classic Italian surroundings whilst still being only five kilometres from Florence. The options for the ceremony and reception include the Sala de Convitto, a former convent refectory, and the Sala Olivaia, an ancient olive storage room, along with the main hall which features lovely views across the olive grove. Expect to dine on tasty authentic cuisine, sourced as locally as possible from the venue’s farm.

2. Hotel Santa Caterina 

Featuring a secluded sun-kissed veranda and light filled dining room overlooking the Amalfi Coast, Hotel Santa Caterina is am elegant and tranquil wedding venue that feels really relaxed and romantic. Host your wedding reception on the 72sqm veranda or host an intimate dinner in the 21sqm bougainville area, followed by live music and dancing at the beach restaurant. In the days surrounding the wedding, enjoy the sea-water swimming pool, the sunbathing decks, private beach and beach club, and visit Positano 30 minutes away and Ravello 15 minutes away. The venue can host up to 100 of your guests and has 38 guest rooms and 9 further rooms in a nearby villa.

3. Castello Di Vincigliata

Dating back to 1000AD, the castle as you see it now actually took shape just 150 years ago. In a beautiful location with views over Florence, the venue has a lovely formal garden beside the main structure in which to host your wedding ceremony, followed by drinks on the terracotta paved terrace. For your wedding reception, celebrate in either the closed courtyard that’s open to the sky, or a covered area for up to 300 guests if the weather causes an issue.

4. Hotel Marincanto

Nestled in the heart of Positano, Hotel Marincanto is a cosy, charming and welcoming hotel who’s ‘Dolce Vita’ feel was loved by famous faces including Grace Kelly and Jackie Kennedy amongst many others. Previously used as a movie set, the hotel remains authentic and unchanged since 1967 and can cater for small weddings of up to 50 guest. They have various packages available, from simple canapés through to a full fine dining sit down dinner.

5. Villa Eva 

Immersed within 3000 square metres of centenary trees, Villa Eva sits at the highest point of the pretty town of Ravello with 360 views of the coast. At this exclusive use venue, you can hold your ceremony outside or inside the dining room which features sea views. For events in and around the wedding, you can use a special area within the park for barbecuing and frying, along with an open cellar that is ideal for evening drinks. There is also an outdoor bar with a wood stove for pizzas and a soundproofed hall that is ideal for your evening DJ or live band.

6. Relais Blu Belvedere 

One of the most popular locations on the Amalfi for weddings, the Relais Blu Belvedere hotel is a lovely option for weddings both large or small. For intimate weddings of 15 to 60 guests, you can reserve one of the terraces for exclusive use. For wedding numbers between 60 to 150 guests, you can hire the whole hotel and its guest rooms. The white villa venue is quintessentially Italian and has beautiful views across to Capri.

7. Hotel Poseidon 

Located in the picturesque and romantic town of Positano, Hotel Poseidon dates back to 1955 when it was created for the Aonzo family as a private villa, that they then turned into a business. Host your wedding on their lovely large terrace with views over the sea and town with up to 40 of your nearest and dearest. The hotel has 51 guest rooms available and a swimming pool on the veranda with views out to sea, perfect for nursing any hangovers after the wedding day.

8. The Grand Hotel Convento di Amalfi 

A 5 star luxury hotel perched on a clifftop eighty metres above sea level, it’s fair to say this hotel has pretty spectacular views of the Amalfi and mediterranean coast. Tucked within the walls of a 13th century monastery you’ll find a panoramic restaurant, plenty of pretty spaces to host your wedding, a swimming pool and accommodation across 53 bedrooms. Catholic ceremonies can take place in the private chapel within the hotel, seating up to 70 guests. For symbolic or civil ceremonies, these can take place in The Cloister (80 guests), Belvedere Terrace (70 guests) or The Bell Terrace (50 guests).
