6 of the Best Coastal and Romantic Wedding Venues in Santorini

Described by Lonely Planet as ‘the supermodel of the Greek islands’, Santorini is an iconic spot known for it’s beautiful whitewashed buildings cut into the cliffside, romantic sunsets and stunning views out over the Aegean Sea. Shaped by a volcanic eruption 3500 years ago, the island has a croissant-like shape, which is turn gives a number of it’s properties spectacular views out to sea. One of the most well-known parts of Santorini (and likely what you’ll see on Instagram) is the beautiful historic village of Oia. Largely pedestrianised with winding paths past lovely shops and restaurants, it’s a luxurious spot to both explore and get married within.

1. Le Ciel

With amazing views of Santorini, the volcano and stunning sunsets, Le Ciel is one of Santorini’s most popular wedding venues for good reason. Host your ceremony out on the terrace overlooking the volcano and Aegean Sea followed by a reception within one of their elegant spaces for up to 120 seated guests. The venue serves authentic Greek food and after you’ve thoroughly wined and dined, you can party until 1am with all your nearest and dearest.

2. Rocabella Hotel

Overlooking the Caldera and surrounding islands, the breathtaking Rocabella Hotel is located on the cliffside close to Imerovigli village. Host your ceremony looking out to sea followed by a lovely reception by the pool, with the hotel’s Cycladic architecture as your backdrop. The venue can host up to 200 of your guests and has accommodation on site, including seven traditional island style houses that surround the pool which are included in your three night rental fee.

3. Saint Antonio Vineyard

Perched atop a hill surrounded by beautiful vineyards and panoramic scenery, you’ll find the picturesque Saint Antonio Vineyard. Featuring traditional and unique architecture in lovely iconic white and blue hues, you can host your wedding looking out to sea, followed by a reception there.

4. Canaves Oia

Located in the well loved area of Oia in Santorini, Canaves Oia is a beautiful location for an intimate and stylish wedding, with amazing sea views. Host your ceremony on their private caldera view balcony, followed by a lovely reception for up to 30 guests seated. You and your guests will enjoy the most amazing sunsets, surrounded by beautiful twinkly lights for the most romantic ending to such a wonderful day.

5. Cavo Ventus Villa

A private villa located in Akrotiri, Cavo Ventus Villas has amazing views of the Aegean sea and the Caldera, and makes for a beautiful location for an outdoor ceremony and reception. The villa itself was built around a 200 year old stone windmill and is complete with warm toned walls and large windows throughout the venue that let natural light flood into the interiors, which are lovely and minimalist in design. You can host up to 130 guests here and party together until 2 in the morning.

6. Venetsanos Winery

Built back in 1947 by the Venetsanos family, this pretty winery was the first of its kind on the island of Santorini. With a beautiful Upper Terrace that can host up to 120 of your guests for both the ceremony and reception, the venue is located on the cliffside of Megalochori, with the Aegean Sea as its backdrop. Come the evening, you and your guests will love witnessing one of the prettiest sunset spots in the area.
